Eye creams that work!
First up, we were introduced to GoodSkin Labs Eyliplex-2 (£29.99, www.boots.com). This is an Eye Lift + Circle Reducer. It’s two little pots in one – one has a Fast-Acting day gel, the other a Long-Lasting Night Balm. You apply the day gel in the
morning, and let it set, putting it on with your ring finger in little patting movements. instantly awakens the eyes by immediately smoothing and lifting lines making wrinkles less visible and skin more radiant. The Night Balm is made up of minerals such as malachite, caffeine and a Vitamin C derivative. It just feels lovely patting this under our eyes before we go to sleep as part of our beauty routine. Our problem with eye-care was that we had been lazy over the years. We’d moisturised in the evening and in the morning, but we just hadn’t dedicated that extra minute to our eyes. And we should have. Our delicate eye-area skin needs extra care. This little two-pot wonder claims to be clinically proven to visibly lift and tighten, to boost natural collagen to restore firmness, and to noticeably reduces the appearance of dark circles. We are positive it worked perfectly in the third of those.

Next up we used Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex (£34.50, www.lookfantastic.com). We sort of alternated between this and the Eyliplex some days. We found this Alpha-H product lovely in the morning, but we ended up sticking with Eyliplex in the evening, it just seemed better to use the dedicated Night Balm. Absolute Eye Complex contains hibiscus flowers, and promises to reflect light away from creeping fine lines, dark circles and tell-tale puffiness around the eye area. We thought this was perfect when we’d had a bad night’s sleep, or we had been tearful, or were exceptionally tired. And, you can pop some on over your makeup during the day if you need a little pick-me-up.

Last, but by no means least, was the last thing we tried - Sisley’s Eye Contour Mask (£71.50, www.johnlewis.com). It is the ultimate in luxury, but it’s more than worth it. It feels amazing on. You simply apply to the eye contour area AND to the eyelids, close your eyes, and leave it on for 10 minutes. You just tissue off what is left, without dragging – be gentle! Then marvel at how instantly refreshed your eyes feel. It rehydrates, and helps with dark circles, under-eye puffiness and fine lines. We used this after a tearful evening, and it was amazing. We will never be without this mask again!

Don't be surprised if, having struggled to organise arrangements so they suit you and others are happy, too, sudden developments turn everything on end. This is nothing more than the influence of eclipses, this weekend and on 4 June, which are not only introducing new ideas, they're triggering much needed breakthroughs.
