Is it ever too soon to start anti-ageing treatments?
Published by Daisy on the 25th November 2010
So, with my 31st Christmas and New Year approaching and numerous adverts finally infiltrating my subconscious on the matter I have decided it may be time to look into anti-aging products. Little did I know just what a quest I would be embarking on. Should I use creams, special face wipes, Botox, or try resting my skin with no products at all?
With so many exciting treatments available it was tricky to decide what to try. Working for Vitality has certainly helped and 3 weeks ago I headed into Soho to pick up my selected product… the brand new Tua Tre’ndface. I’d booked some time off work so headed home to Norfolk to visit my folks, relax in the countryside, and get to grips with my new facial experiment…
The Tua Tre’ndface is designed to be used at home and the basic idea is that it uses micro-current technology to send a small current into your skin and facial muscles to fight the signs of ageing. When I removed the Tre’ndface from its packaging I thought maybe there had been a mix-up and I’d picked up a new IPod as that’s exactly what it looks like! It’s a device that was discovered by beauty expert Tina Richards whilst she was over in Italy; she loved the product so much that she’s brought it over to the UK. Whilst the batteries for the machine were charging I read the instruction booklet to try and ascertain just how I was going to use this device. Sadly this was the moment my younger brother came round to visit and he promptly dragged both my parents upstairs to come and see what crazy Daisy was doing, and boy did they all have a laugh. They walked into my bedroom to find me holding what can only be described as two vibrating sponges on a white stick up to my face, quite an amusing sight I think! Basically there are two sponge pads attached to a small unit that runs a small current through it which conducts its magic as soon as the pads are moistened with tap water and held against your face. The programmers have designed the product to have different “workouts” for different areas of your face; the forehead, cheeks, under eye, jaw line, chin, lower lip, and neck. Please let me point out here that I am not covered in wrinkles all over my face; I decided to try each programme once then select one to do every day for a couple of weeks. Despite the most bizarre sensation when holding the gadget against your skin I could see the idea behind it so after sampling each programme I chose to focus on my attention on working my jaw line.
I used the product every day for the past 3 weeks and I really must say it actually has tightened the skin around my jaw line! Before sitting down to write this I just hopped online and it seems the celebs are into the Tre’ndface too, with the latest being Tamzin Outhwaite who has described it as “remarkable!” I must point out that not everyone will enjoy the sensation of the product’s stimulation against your skin, one of my friends described it as a bit like that moment when you put your tongue on a live battery as a child (not advisable by the way!). But I will certainly keep going with this little number, I think I’m going to try to eliminate those little laughter lines round my eyes next…

Scorpio
It's the rare Scorpio who'd plunge into any situation, whether personal or of a practical or professional nature. Still, judging by this week's stunning planetary activity, in which your ruler Pluto takes a starring role, what's coming your way is far too exciting to refuse. At least explore offers. You'll be glad you did. By Shelley von Strunckel
